If you are asking yourself the question, "How do I start to invest in real estate?" you've come to the right place. I'm going to give you a very simple five step outline that will lead you towards your goal of real estate investing success.

Some of the steps may not make a lot of sense to you at first, but realize that these are the steps others, including myself, have followed. One of the best ways to succeed at anything is to find out what other successful people have done, and then do the exact same thing. You're not the first person to ask, "How do I start to invest in real estate?" The first step is to relax. Yes, I said relax. For me, this was the most important step, because I found myself getting all stressed out. Every day I was asking myself, "How do I start to invest in real estate?" And everyday I kept drawing a blank. When I consciously forced myself to calm down and not worry about it, my mind was then free to explore the solutions, rather than the problem. So, start by relaxing.

Second, you need to build your knowledge base. In other words start getting a real estate investing education, and don't ever stop. There's a wealth of material available for those asking themselves, "How do I start to invest in real estate?" You literally can go online and get a college level education!

Will it be free? Not all of it, but much of it is. Like the Bible says, "Seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you." With a little digging, you'll be amazed at the information you'll uncover. You should be prepared to invest some money in the very best programs, but don't rush into it. Take your time and do your research before you spend your hard earned money.

Step three is keep your eyes open. Deals are all around you, but you don't yet have the knowledge to see them. As you increase your knowledge, the true deals will become visible to you, and one day you'll wonder how you could have ever failed to see them. Right now you're asking yourself, "How do I start to invest in real estate?" Someday very soon you'll be asking yourself, "How could I have missed this?"

The successful real estate investor is the one who never stops looking for the deals.

The fourth step is to make offers. This one is a real key. Most wanna be investors sit on the sidelines and never make any offers. All they ever do is read and learn, never applying any of the knowledge. As you learn and read, step out and apply what you learn by making offers. Most won't be accepted, but so what? Some will, and when they are, you'll be on your way! There will come a point when you will need to stop asking, "How do I start to invest in real estate?" and just start. When that time comes you will be confident enough to do it, because you will have the knowledge you need.

Finally, you need to finish what you start. Decide right now you will be the kind of real estate investor who will keep every promise you make, close on every deal you make an offer on, and follow through on every commitment. Those are the kind of investors who progress way beyond the question, "How do I start to invest in real estate?" and make it to their goal of success and prosperity.
